Surtruck has officially delivered today to the City Council of Seville the vehicle won in public tender for fire fighting, a Heavy Rural Pump (BRP) of last generation. The vehicle was delivered 7 months ahead of the tender date.
In addition to having a large capacity to provide water during urban fires, with a water tank of 3,500 litres capacity and a combined pressure pump of 3,000 litres per minute at 10 bar in low pressure and 400 litres per minute at 40 bar in high pressure, the vehicle has an innovative system, designed by Surtruck, which monitors at all times both the water flow and pressure of the fire fighting teams, as well as the water supply from the outside to the vehicle.
The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has highlighted how positive the incorporation of the Heavy Rural Pump (BRP) will be. ‘The vehicle is a Scania model, but its equipment is made by a company from Seville, Surtruck, a pioneer in the sector, whom I thank for the effort they have made to meet the delivery deadlines and the magnificent result they have achieved,’ he said.
The technical characteristics of the fire engine is a vehicle on a Scania XT chassis, 4×4 version, 410 hp engine. Its maximum authorised weight is 18,000 kilos. It has a double cab with 2+4 occupants, Bostrom seats with integrated ERA equipment (except for the driver’s) and the tested and certified Scania cab seats, an official approval processed and obtained by Surtruck to be able to install the seats in this cab model.
The Heavy Rural Pump also has a 12-inch TFT screen that displays working pressures and flow rates and supply pressures and flow rates, as well as a peripheral protection circuit for the crew cab and vehicle; thermal protection for all pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and braking system pipes.
In addition to all this, there is the roll-over warning device with voice alarm system, which calculates the stability of the vehicle in motion and warns the driver in the event of a risk of roll-over, as well as the driving aids, the 360º recording system and the internal storage unit.
