Surtruck has just introduced a highly innovative range of products that provides the answer to lithium battery fires. Using the only agent that contains, cools and extinguishes such fires in lithium batteries.

The commercial director of the Products Division, Teresa Gentil, explained that the products, of the AVD Fire brand, contain an aqueous dispersion of vermiculite, using a revolutionary technology that creates a dry film that acts as a barrier. This composition is applied to lithium battery fires in the form of a fog, extinguishing them quickly and preventing the fire from spreading.

Surtruck, which has become the brand’s distributor in Spain, also has fire blankets, which, together with the extinguishers, make it possible to control a lithium battery fire.

On a technical level, AVD is a natural mineral solution, which makes it non-toxic to humans, animals and plants. Tests have been carried out with LFP, CMN, LCO and NCA batteries (the different ones depending on the base metals) making it effective in portable and fixed extinguishing systems.
