He had been working in companies in the sector for almost two decades and started working at Surtruck in 2015, in its infancy. In those days the project had not even been born, as the first warehouse was being prepared and his task was to clean the workshop and organize it. Outside, the first orders were being finalized, while inside the prototypes were being designed from which they began to chisel the brand. “We had a lot, a Fuso, a tanker and several hydrostatic vans,” he recalls. Surtruck was more of a future than the present, and so he is very proud with the results and where the company is now.
Over the years, Jesús Lorenzo Muñoz Jiménez, better known as Loren to his colleagues, has some thirty workers under his command and is currently the Team Leader of the Cleaning and Environment Vehicle Workshop Team. “I am very proud of our growth. And the new warehouse has been a relief. I like it a lot, especially because we have room to comfortably distribute the vehicles we are working on,” he says.
Another aspect that Loren is very proud of is technology. “Our ECO-Cleanig system is very popular and offers very good performance. The batteries are self-recharging and the operation is very environmentally sustainable, while offering maximum efficiency. Having top-quality technology is the best endorsement of our work,” he says proudly.
Jesús Lorenzo Muñoz considers that one of the greatest difficulties for any team leader is having to organize the work and get it done in the shortest possible time. This is no easy task when you consider that he is in charge of 18 people and has to coordinate guidelines for new employees with those given to others with more seniority. Some are younger, others older, more experienced… “Our team is very professional and that is a plus in our favor. We have very good welders, fitters, mechanics, electricians… a staff that is not easy to find and we have been compacting it day by day”. In fact, for him the main disadvantage, when it comes to expanding the workforce, is that the workers have the qualifications that a company of Surtruck’s characteristics requires. That is why growth has to go through a rigorous selection of new recruits.
When asked how he sees the future, Loren answers with confidence: “I am very optimistic because we have overcome the worst part, which was making ourselves known and gaining the trust of our first customers. Having overcome that phase, we have continued to grow, and our technology is well liked. Our R&D&I department continues to make progress and this research is transferred to the workshop under the command of Francisco Algaba, who directs the team leaders. And we transfer those orders to the other workers so that the chain works perfectly, which is our ultimate goal.
