Surtruck is participating until Friday in the Sicur International Exhibition. At stand 8E16 at Ifema the Sevillian firm is showing the advances achieved by its R&D&I department, such as the narrow vehicles, in which it was a pioneer in Spain in 2016, which have already had more than 12,000 interventions because, as Surtruck states, “in 2016 the experts knew which was the right chassis to develop the narrow street vehicle complying with EN-1846”.
Surtruck is also showing 100% electric firefighting equipment at Ifema. The most eye-catching is a fire truck called Eco-Fire, which is capable of pumping water at low pressure non-stop and at full capacity during several shifts of work, given that it lasts for more than the 8 hours of a working day. This is achieved thanks to its 48-volt lithium batteries, which are safe for workers.
The batteries of this equipment are completely independent of the chassis, and interchangeable if necessary. This means that the autonomy of the vehicle could be unlimited and the batteries would only have to be replaced when necessary, or they could be supported from an external source while the extinguishing process is being carried out.
In addition to this vehicle, three pumps are on display at the stand: a Mercedes Benz Unimog heavy forestry pump, a Mercedes Benz heavy-duty mother pump and a light rural pump with electric drive equipment. According to Manuel Santana, Surtruck’s Sales Director for Fire Fighting Vehicles, “we have brought to SICUR the latest fire fighting technology on the market, with the most innovative and sustainable vehicles on the market”.
