Andalusian technology in the Arab Emirates. The Sevillian company Surtruck has just signed an agreement to start manufacturing one hundred percent sustainable cleaning vehicles with low water consumption for the emirate of Sharjah. The company’s manager, Juan Gallego, has signed a contract with the Beeah public corporation, responsible for cleaning in the emirate, which will start using tanks and cleaning vans with the Eco Cleaning technology developed by this Andalusian company.
It is a system patented by Surtruck that uses electric irrigation systems, which guarantees soundproofing, so they can work at night without disturbing, and has an irrigation system that optimises water flow, thereby reducing consumption. All this added to low CO2 emissions and a system specially designed to withstand the high temperatures of the environment, as their interior batteries are protected and pose zero risk to operators.
The vehicles are hybrid, because they have a thermal chassis and an electric water pump that allows them to work several shifts without recharging, as well as offering safety at work thanks to their 48-volt batteries. And all this with zero maintenance of the cleaning equipment, using brushless technology in the motors, which allows the DC motors to operate without brushes.
The agreement reached between the Spanish company Surtruck and the Arab public corporation Beeah is the result of the Spanish trade mission “Mission Sustainability” that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Spain has promoted through ICEX in the last days of June in the Arab emirates of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The expedition brought together a group of companies with a common denominator: their commitment to sustainability, a requirement that the Arab countries have marked as strategic in order to reach trade agreements. The Spanish businessmen have had the support and accompaniment of the Spanish ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Íñigo de Palacio España, and have participated in several working meetings and scheduled visits in a busy agenda with which ICEX has sought to support Spanish companies in internationalization, to make their products known in the United Arab Emirates.
Surtruck’s manager highlighted the support received from ICEX, “because the group of companies that participated in this project was very small. For us, being part of this mission has been very important, given that sustainability has always been the main emblem of Surtruck and our technology, patented and developed by us, is the result of this concern”.
Surtruck is the pioneer in Spain of electric pumping vehicles to achieve emissions reduction with more than 200 electric pumping vehicles catalogued as “zero risk” for municipalities that are committed to sustainability in Spain, and endorsed by the most influential companies in the urban cleaning sector.
