He is about to celebrate his fourth year at the helm of the company. Surtruck has been his first and only job, something he is very proud of because it has allowed him to participate in the company’s growth.
When that young man landed in the working world, he did so as an industrial engineer who was finishing his degree at the University of Seville. This Huelva native, who has just passed his thirtieth birthday, was eager to put into practice what he had learned in the classroom and in books. That’s why he found the Surtruck project very attractive and set about the task of learning.
In the beginning, he was assigned to provide support in drafting and control of workshop hours, analyze manufacturing processes or participate in the estimation of budgets. Coming from an industrial organization background gave him the tools to be at the height of his new organizational job and make it his own.
As time went by, he evolved and took on responsibility for the provisioning department, which is in charge of preparing the firefighting equipment so that the vehicles are equipped with all the products required by the customer. He admits that sometimes he feels like he’s in a Tetris game. It can’t be easy to fit so many elements and equipment into ever-smaller areas of a vehicle. The 3-D design and your patience are sometimes, for this complicated challenge, your main weapons.
Sometimes it is difficult to locate all the necessary equipment because customers are very demanding and the list of equipment is getting longer and longer. When these cases arise, a selection has to be made, but always hand in hand with the future users. And the proposals are also linked to the needs of reality, something that leads to choosing, from the prism of practice, the elements that will be most useful to professionals.
Another of the aspects that most attracts him to Surtruck is its continuous capacity for growth, since, as José Luis Pérez states, “there are more and more orders and we are more and more colleagues in the technical office. This is exciting, as are the challenges posed by our customers, which make us evolve and continue to grow”.
And if he likes the feeling of growing, he likes even more the feeling of being part of a project “that has no ceiling because the numbers are there and the future points to a growth that will be the result of the enthusiasm of this wonderful team to which I am proud to belong”.
Passionate about continuous training
José Luis Pérez Crespo has many hobbies. The main ones are reading, going to the movies and playing sports, such as running and soccer. But there is one that stands out above the rest: continuous training. A challenge he is passionate about and to which he gives priority over everything he likes, in a mixture of self-improvement and professionalism that perfectly defines him as a person.
