Surtruck has just delivered nine so-called ‘Light Rescue Vans (FSVL)’ to the Cádiz Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium (CBPC), an order for 2,540,540.91 euros with which the consortium seeks to improve the operational capacity of the service and respond to the need for renovation in some of the parks. In fact, the nine vehicles will be distributed to the different parks in the province.
The official presentation of the vehicles has just taken place at the Hontoria fire station in Jerez de la Frontera, in a ceremony attended by the president of the CBPC, José Ortiz, the mayoress of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo; the president of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Almudena Martínez; the manager of Surtruck, Juan Gallego, its commercial director of Fire Fighting Vehicles, Manuel Santana; as well as a large representation of firefighters from the province.
The president of the CBPC, José Ortiz, highlighted the commitment fulfilled for the Consortium and the improvements that these vehicles represent for the personnel and the service. He also explained that the nine light rescue vehicles will go to the fire stations of Cádiz (S30), Chiclana (S31), Jerez (S32), Puerto de Santa María (S33), Ubrique (S34), Villamartín (S35), Algeciras (S36), La Línea (S37) and Tarifa (S38), ‘These vehicles, in their updated version and thanks to the advice of the Consortium itself, incorporate improvements in accessibility, both to urban areas (with the 4×2 models) and to rural areas (with the 4×4 models)’.
Surtruck’s manager explained that the vehicles have been designed to meet the needs of the province of Cadiz, following several meetings to determine the technical specifications on behalf of the consortium, and thanked Surtruck for the trust it has placed in the consortium to make the project a reality.
Transport of material and equipment
The vehicles are specially designed to transport material and equipment for all types of rescues, such as insulating materials, lighting, manual and battery-powered tools, self-contained breathing apparatus, first aid, protection, stabilisers, pneumatic equipment, rescue tools, accessories for traffic accidents, stretchers, height equipment and ladders, among others.
The vehicles have an image in line with the corporate identity of the Cadiz Fire Brigade Consortium, where a high-visibility yellow colour predominates and are vinyl-coated in accordance with the current corporate image of the CBPC. And after being manufactured in Surtruck, they have successfully passed the UNE 1846 compliance tests at the INSIA testing laboratory in Madrid.
