Surtruck has its BRIFOR prototype ready for difficult terrain and mountainous areas. The Light Forestry Brigade vehicle, a Renault 4×4 with a reduction gearbox, which has been in the works for some time now, has just passed with flying colours in the mountains of Teruel, specifically in an area of difficult access and mountainous terrain. This version of BRIFOR has been bodied on a Renault Máster Red Ccab Crew RWD designed by Surtruck’s R+D+i department and manufactured at the Seville production plant. The vehicle is now ready for production and ready to respond to forest fires with safety and grip, even when the terrain is very difficult, as it has demonstrated in tests.
Surtruck’s forestry brigade vehicle is designed for difficult access operations, mainly in rural and forestry areas, environments where the all-terrain vehicle is essential as a working tool. The prepared 4×4 has a fast, agile and safe mobility capacity in this environment, with three very well differentiated load areas: fuel and oils for light forestry machines, personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies, and finally, preventive and extinguishing work equipment.
HIGH RESISTANCE
A highly valued feature is that its entire structure is made of high-strength aluminium, so it withstands the highest temperatures, preventing the entry of oxygen that accelerates combustion. Moreover, even when it reaches the melting point, over 700º, it does not emit any toxic substance or vapour that would prevent firefighters and rescue teams from carrying out their work.
Other features of the vehicle that are being highly valued by professionals are the lockable bonnet in the load area, the 3-point safety belt, the anti-tip indicator system in the cabin, the front and rear parking sensors, the fire fighting and prevention equipment support, the M+S tyres, the roll bars and the equipment according to the customer’s needs.
The commercial director of Vehículos Contraincendios, Manuel Santana, emphasised that “the practical exhibition we have carried out with forestry professionals has been very positive. After seeing our equipment in action in the field, the spaciousness of the compartments and the seats, they have told us that our 4×4 has no comparison with others they work with, something that has filled us with satisfaction because the vehicle we have presented is the result of more than two years of work”.
